Worried About Radiation From Mobile Towers? Track It Using This Portal!

Given just how prevalent mobile phones are in our daily lives and the increasing number of mobile towers being constructed by telecom companies, it’s understandable if there are those who are worried about the impact on health these towers might have.
Addressing those fear, the government has launched a new website that seeks to allay any fears people might have about their personal health.
With the help of GPS technology, one can accurately pin down their location in order to access this data. According to an official statement published in Sify.com, the Department of Telecom (DoT) notes, “By click of a button, information on EMF compliance status of mobile towers can be accessed. Detailed information about any tower site, if requested, will be sent on email to the users. Additionally, any person can request for EMF emission measurement at a location by paying a nominal fee of Rs 4,000 online.”
For now, there are technical details available for over 14.5 lakh base stations spread across the country. And this includes all telecom service providers and all technologies such as 2G, 3G, and 4G.
Apart from providing data on EMF compliance status, the website also provides information that helps users sift through facts and also busts myths about electromagnetic fields. People can also go through articles, videos and booklets on the subject to gain better understanding. Additionally the site also provides information on the latest initiatives taken by the Department of Telecom.

Helmets: Something you may have hated with a passion as a child, but your parents made you wear. As adults, one could argue helmet use is pretty divided. If you head down your local bike path or along a neighborhood street, you’ll see a good number of riders not wearing their helmets. Two Virginia Tech students think that’s a problem. Co-founders David Hall and Jordan Klein started  Park & Diamond  and set out to create a safe, compact, and stylish helmet to hopefully convince people to wear them every time they bike. The interest in refining technology to prevent bike related head injuries is  incredibly personal  for the team of innovators, especially for Hall.
